Sept. First Meeting – Wine Tasting!

Wine-tasting

Please join us Sept. 16th at 7:30 for our first meeting this year (our “year” is kind of like the school year)! We’re having a wine tasting event at Can Can in Carytown and will be tasting and hearing about some great wines you can find at our very own Ellwood Thompson’s.

Returning members, join us again and bring friends! Never been to a meeting? Don’t be shy, come see what we’re all about!

We hope to see you there!

Building relationships. Strengthening our community.

Our mission is to encourage friendship within our neighborhood, provide civic and social welfare to the community, and elevate the cultural and intellectual pursuits of members in the interest of a higher standard of citizenship.

Friendship

Membership consists of women, ages 21 and older, who are residents of the Museum District. Our current members range from single women in their 20s to grandmothers in their 60s.

We welcome all women and encourage diversity in our membership.

Social

Members join together on the third Wednesday of each month. Each monthly meeting features a guest speaker on a specific topic or theme, and also has plenty of time for catching up, meeting new people and learning something new.

We invite you to join us and see what we are all about!

Civic Involvement

Some members have taken on causes with special meaning to them including John B. Cary Elementary School, Family Lifeline, the Belmont Public Library, and Gateway to the Museum District. While the MDWC encourages volunteering, it is not a requirement of membership.

We invite new ideas and causes that are important to you!

Progressive Dinner- April 16th, 2016

**UPDATE: The deadline for the 2016 Progressive Dinner has passed and we’re not providing any additional tickets for this event! We hope to see you all at our next meeting on April 20th.**

Do you enjoy appetizers, wine and more wine? Do you love getting together with your neighbors (and their friends and significants others)? Do you love celebrating your neighborhood and seeing great homes? Do you love delicious food for a great price? Then the Progressive Dinner is for you!

At the MDWC’s annual Progressive Dinner you will hop from house to house for each course while mixing and mingling with your friends and neighbors. For only $25 per person you will get appetizers, a salad course, entree, dessert AND WINE and the opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors.

We are looking for volunteers to host a course in their home, cook an entree or salad (or do both!); in return you will get a free ticket. Anyone who wants to attend, volunteer or pay by check. Pass the word along and encourage you friends and neighbors to come out!
