Join us for our Holiday Social With Change the World RVA!!!

Save the date for our December Social, which is a potluck dinner with our 2017 charity, Change the World RVA.  The social is December 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the One Bed and Breakfast, 1 N. Boulevard.  All members are invited to attend and please bring a dish to share!

We are excited to announce that our charity this year is Change the World RVA. Change the World RVA is a 501(c)3 established to support high school and college students in Richmond, Virginia who are experiencing homelessness and housing instability. Change the World RVA partners with an army of volunteers, churches, and organizations to make a meaningful difference in the lives of homeless youth. Change the World RVA is an all-volunteer organization, and the only organization in the region that specifically addresses the needs of high school and college students facing homelessness. Please read more about this wonderful organization on their website: https://www.changetheworldrva.org/

How can we help?

There are three different ways you can donate to Change the World RVA during our December Social:

First, Change the World RVA’s BIG semi-annual fund raiser is “Another Woman’s Treasure.” They collect new & gently used purses, jewelry, and women’s accessories (scarves, briefcases, hats) and sell them in a 2-day yard sale on steroids! Please no shoes! Get a jump on your spring cleaning and bring any donations to our December Social!

Second, for the students, Change the World RVA could use gift cards and GRTC bus passes. Some suggestions provided by the organization are gift cards from places like WalMart, Food Lion, Target, or Subway in any denomination. For GRTC bus passes, any amount would be great, and can be purchased around town and even online.

Third, Change the World RVA welcomes any cash or check donations.

A representative from Change the World RVA will be at the December Social to tell us more about the organization, to tell us how we can get involved, and to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you there!
